The Chemical Brothers have announced a rare DJ set at the summer opening of Space Ibiza. Brothers gonna work it out!
Chemical Brothers and Sisters,
Phantasy Sound has announced they will release a one-off double A side 12” from The Chemical Brothers’ Tom Rowlands
‘Through Me’ is an all-cylinders, propulsive elasticated house track while ‘Nothing But Pleasure’ is eight-plus minutes of unstoppable Metallic KO disco. Both tracks reiterate the point that Tom is unarguably one of the greatest producers of club music around.
Preview the tracks here:

The 12” vinyl will be in the shops within the next couple of weeks - with the download to follow a few weeks afterwards.
Pre-order the vinyl here:

About the release…
Tom Rowlands: “These are tracks that were made to DJ with. I gave them to Erol to road test; he loved them so it seemed a perfect fit for Phantasy - I love what he does with the label. The Chemical Brothers haven’t any plans to release new music this year – we’re soon to start work on a new record - so this 12” seemed an exciting way to get music into clubs now.”
Phantasy Sound’s Erol Alkan: “Every time I played the tracks out people were desperate to find out what they were. Both have been highlights in my Dj sets for the last few months.”

“Velodrome” by The Chemical Brothers was composed specially for the Olympic Track Cycling events in the Velodrome in 2012:
In 2011, at the iconic Fuji Rock Festival in Japan, The Chemical Brothers played a headline set in front of 50,00 fans that was captured on 21 cameras. Immersing us in the thick of a frenetic crowd, “Don’t Think” captures the synaesthetic barrage of sound, film, and light and the transforming effect it has on its audience. Directed by Adam Smith, one of the show’s visual creators, we are taken on a magical realist psychedelic journey where we feel the show rather than merely watch it.

‘Velodrome’ by Chemical Brothers was composed specially for the Olympic Track Cycling events in the Velodrome.
When approached to write the official theme music for the Track Cycling events in the Velodrome, Tom Rowlands and Ed Simons had two initial considerations: firstly there was the long and fascinating history of the sport, and secondly there was Tom’s own personal interest in cycling. Embracing this response they set about creating something that would reflect “the sense of speed, pace and drama,” of the sport as well as the “incredible beauty” (Ed Simons Q Magazine interview), of the new London 2012 Velodrome’s architecture.
The result is ‘Velodrome’, a thrilling, world-class track that will provide the soundtrack to six action packed days of competitive Track Cycling over the course of which 10 Olympic gold medals will be won.
Tom says, “I have loved cycling since I was a boy. I havealways made a connection between electronic music and cycling repetition, the freedom and sense of movement. Kraftwerk obviously cemented this connection with their ‘Tour de France’ track. For us to create the theme for the Velodrome is a great honour and we’re really excited to hear it in situ.”
